Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Center
The School of Pharmacy is equipped with 7 MS spectrometers used for research and undergraduate teaching, as well as being available for industrial use. As well as providing routine mass spectral analysis, the mass spectrometry laboratory, is also home to more advanced applications development and non-routine analysis. All the data acquired must be elucidate by the researcher and any facility member group is allowed to furnish structural or others interpretations about the data. Three of these are High Resolution Mass Spectrometric instruments with ESI and MALDI sources.
ESI-MS data can be done at low or high resolution. Please select your specific interest before submits the sample using the specific file.
Samples must be free of salts and detergents, and soluble in water or a volatile solvent such as methanol or acetonitrile. Polar solvent systems such as DMSO or DMF are not permitted.
High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS)
This service is typically used for small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, and some intact proteins. For the routine analysis the analyte must be within the mass range of 50-4000 m/z as well as capable of forming an ion in solution. Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) Services:
This service is set up to work with small molecules within the mass range of 50-4000 m/z. Polar solvent systems such as DMSO or DMF are not permitted.
How to submitted samples.
Rotine HRMS data of stable compounds (looking
for the molecular formula data of a single compound) can be directly submit our
facility after print the specific form. For other services we recommend
that you contact us prior to submitting your samples so that we may
best address your specific scientific needs. The contact can be also done by
