In the area of Gene Therapy, the research group is developing nanoparticles for application to the skin containing siRNA and miRNA, aiming to treat diseases such as psoriasis, vitiligo, skin cancer, leprosy, among others. The methods for evaluating the clinical efficacy of the developed formulations involve advanced biophysical techniques and image analysis, which allow the skin evaluation in a non-invasive way and real-time skin.
