Atrav\u00e9s do uso de t\u00e9cnicas cromatogr\u00e1ficas e microssomas hep\u00e1ticos de humanos, o nosso objetivo \u00e9 identificar como esses xenobi\u00f3ticos s\u00e3o metabolizados e como interferem na atividade do CYP450, que desempenha um papel crucial no metabolismo de diversos f\u00e1rmacos. O consumo excessivo dessa subst\u00e2ncia est\u00e1 associado a v\u00e1rios agravos \u00e0 sa\u00fade. Nosso grupo desenvolve estudos experimentais que visam compreender os mecanismos celulares e moleculares pelos quais o etanol promove seus efeitos t\u00f3xicos no sistema cardiovascular, identificando vias de sinaliza\u00e7\u00e3o que medeiam a toxicidade dessa subst\u00e2ncia. (II)Toxicologia de Medicamentos: Algumas classes de medicamentos (ex. antineopl\u00e1sicos, antibi\u00f3ticos, antiparasit\u00e1rios e anti-inflamat\u00f3rios) promovem efeitos t\u00f3xicos mesmo quando utilizadas em doses terap\u00eauticas. Os objetivos dessa linha de pesquisa incluem: 1. Descrever o impacto da toxicidade de f\u00e1rmacos sobre a fisiologia do sistema cardiorenal; 2. Identificar as bases moleculares da toxicidade induzida por f\u00e1rmacos; 3.
